Satyajit Ray’s Red Book of Sketches
Satyajit Ray, one of India’s greatest filmmakers, maintained sketchbooks bound by red cloth, which he lovingly called “Kheror Khata” (red books). In these books, he sketched his characters, costumes and scenes in great detail. Pictured here are costumes for the courtiers and the king for his movie Hirak Rajar Deshe (Kingdom of Diamonds).
